I'm Not Smart Enough! - What's Your Excuse

Author: David H Evans
You could have noticed that unsuccessful persons are afflicted with a mind-freezing ailment. Let's call this illness My Excuse. Virtually every person has had at moderate dose and as with any illness if never ever dealt with it gets a whole lot worse.

The person who has been repeating his very first year another five to ten times carries a bucketful of reasons to reveal why. The procedure goes some thing similar to this. I'm not really performing too effectively here. What can I use for an excuse?

The moment the individual turns into a sorry victim of this specific excuse he sticks with it in order to persuade other people that his lack of good results isn't really his own fault. With constant repetition even he actually starts to believe the excuse. He has now turned into a chronic case.

My Excuse is identified in a number of strains, and probably the most critical is My Lack of Intelligence Excuse. I never ever had the brains to succeed is an excuse that as many as as ninety percent of men and women use in varying degrees. This illness is suffered in silence mainly because people today usually don't like to admit openly that they think that they lack intelligence.

Here's the Thing.

o We overestimate everybody else's brainpower, and underestimate our own brainpower

o We sell ourselves short. .

A lot of folks have no notion of what intelligence actually is plus the basis of their belief that they're not intelligent is past experiences in school and in many cases on the constant criticisms of an abusive boss or parent or guardian. It goes some thing like this "you idiot can't you get anything right"!

A significant study of antisocial personalities reveals that they possess characteristics and mental attitudes that are highly harmful to everybody about them. These include habitually selecting the wrong target and dealing primarily with bad news, hostile remarks, invalidation, and suppression.

These people are surrounded by vulnerable ill colleagues and family members, who're behaving in a crippled manner in daily life, failing and not succeeding.

Should you be living or working in close proximity to a seriously psychotic individual you're in genuine danger, therefore you really should smooth out your connection with this source of invalidation as soon as possible.
Make it clear that you simply are conscious that the continuous criticisms and public invalidation are irrational and unfair and needs to stop. Bear in mind that what motivates psychotic behaviour is fear of everyone else and almost everything else.

Have you ever wondered why some brilliant folks are flops? I used to be close for quite some time to an individual who qualified as a genius. His IQ was above 135 but he was among the list of least effective people I've known. He had a mediocre career, was married and divorced three times, smoked 40 cigarettes every day and ultimately drank himself to death. This man utilized his fantastic brainpower to be able to prove why things don't function as instead of directing his mental energy to searching for methods to succeed.

One day Albert Einstein was asked the number of feet you can find in a mile. Einstein's reply was, "I don't know" Why must I fill my brain with facts I am able to locate in two minutes in any reference book. He felt that it was much more critical to utilize his mind to think than to store facts. An idea man is able to turn his aspirations into reality. A fact man can't!

Three techniques which you can use to treat My Lack of Intelligence Excuse

1. Remind your self everyday "my attitude is far more crucial that my intelligence 2. Remember the capacity to think creatively is far more significant compared to the capability to recall facts.
3. Don't sell your self short.
An optimistic very positive individual employing all his strengths with an IQ of 100 will earn a great deal more cash, win significantly more respect and accomplish a lot more good results compared to a negative, pessimistic, individual who fails to use of his natural talents with an IQ of 120 plus.

The Self-Control Christian Man

Author: Andre Dillard
There was a time in Wendy's  where there was a child having a tantrum, so as the people was watching the child being a nuisance to the quality of sound.  The father was cool and in control, and said, “Derek Anthony Bell try to control yourself”. They’re an elderly lady that was in the line across from him looked with awe.  As she was walking passed after she had gotten her food, as she was walking  towards the young man and said to him, “Wow!’ may I complement you on how to handle your son”. The young man turned around with a peculiar look, and  said to the lady, “Son nothing, I was talking about me”!

Now as Men especially Christian men not only are we looked at every day, but also we are targets of anything negative; furthermore, we must learn to have to self-control. Now that’s hard to do. There are many things to make you lose control especially in times like these. It could be the rising cost of gas, and food prices,  or perhaps you’re on a diet and can’t eat the foods you like, with the stress of work, and wife or girlfriend, or even ‘baby momma drama’. It could be drugs, or drinking, maybe even sexual temptation. I’m here to tell you can do it! With God’s help you can do it.  Some people might say self-control is for the weak. You know the type “I’m a man, and self-control is for wimps”! Well Jesus had self-control. Is he a wimp?  The story of Jesus in the Temple is a perfect story {John 2:13-16}. Was Jesus upset? Yes he was? There is a difference between uncontrollable rage and righteous indignation-yet they are both called anger. We must be very careful how we use the emotion of anger. It is alright to be angry about injustice and sin; it is wrong to be angry over trivial personal offenses. Keep in mind when was upset He saw the doves he was at peace.

Self-control is a very important part of spiritual maturity.  Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines self-control as ‘restraint exercises over one’s emotions, or desires’;(italics added).  As Christians restraint is hard to do let’s take Job for another example. Job lost everything house, cattle and children.  The flesh fell from his bones, boils and scabs all over his body and private parts. Even when his friends sat with him for seven days and each of them had their own reason. Eliphaz the Termanite reason’s was Job was suffering because he had sinned. Go to God and confess your sins to him {Job 5:8} Job had restraint didn’t curse or swear at the he just simple replied “Stop assuming my guilt” {Job 6:29}.  Job other friend Bildad reason was that he was stubborn he won’t admit that he sinned. He said to Job, “how long you’re going to be like this”? {Job 8:2}. Again he had self-discipline and said, I will say to God…tell me why are you doing it”? {Job 10:2}. That wasn’t anger that was a question on what did I do?  Job still displayed self-control. His other comrade Zophar the Naamathite reason was that he deserves even more suffering than he’s experiencing (Wow, what a pal!).  He said, “Get rid of your sins” {Job 11:13, 14}.  Not on time did Job lose it. All he said was “I‘ll know I’ll be justified” {Job 13:18}. Is that faith in God or what? Job was struggling spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Even when God was silent and when he is silent in your lives, just hold on to your faith. I can say it better this way, “This is only a test”!
  1. Possibly we can alienate are selves from the drama. Try to stay in our own “little world”.  That’s not going to happen in this life or any other life. The devil is out there waiting and watching you, accusing you, tempting you. We are trying to be Christ like, and that is the way we’re supposed to be or trying to be.  Christians get that confused with being like Christ. You may ask “what does that has to do with self-control”?  Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, and that showed His self-control.  Even after forty days without eating, or drinking.   Jesus had self-control even when the devil tempted him. Now in reality we can’t go forty minutes without eating, but I here to tell you yes you can! The same power that Jesus has you has, the Holy Spirit.  In John 14:26, it reads, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom The Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring things to your remembrance” (Italics added). That was makes us Christ like. Look, you don’t have to understand Apologetics, or have a doctorate in Theology to have self-control. You can read the self-control chapter Ephesians 4; however, look at Galatians 2:20 it reads, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I live now I live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Italics added). Just a Christ suffered, bleed, and  died for us that again was another part of self-control as He hung on the Cross at Calvary His own words was “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” {Luke 22:34}. Image the pain and suffering My Lord must have been feeling, also try to understand the patients of Christ being accused, beating on, whipped, and still show compassion, and think of the things he did, Not only showing self-control , but love also.  Again self-control, so you’re saying ‘what’s the big deal ’?  I can’t do that! YES YOU CAN!  I live by this, “You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you” {Phil; 4:13}.
  2. Anger is a great offense because it violates God’s command to love. The Bible says, “Thou shalt not kill” {Exodus 20:13}, so as a Christian male this is when you call on God for forgiveness. Even if you have the thought of murder in your heart you have committed murder in your heart. Anger is a dangerous emotion that threatens to leap out of control, leading to violence, emotional hurt, increased mental and physical stress, and spiritual damage. Anger keeps us from developing a sprit pleasing to God. There are some days that you can take pride that you didn’t strike out against, or say what is really on your mind? Bear in mind self-control is good, but Jesus wants us to practice thought-control as well. Jesus said we will be held accountable for our attitudes.
There are some people in the Bible who could have used thought-control; therefore let’s look at Samson story for a minute. Here’s a man raised up by the Lord from his parents was to be a deliver and judge over a disobedient Israel. Samson who had great potential wasted it on jokes, and getting out of fights. He could have strengthened his nation, and get them back to worshipping God, but lost focus. He could squeeze the life out of a lion, yet he could not strangle his own love. He could break open the restraints of his foes; but not the cords of his own desire. He burned the crops of others, and lost the fruit of his own asset when burning with the flame of a single woman. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul” {Mark 8:36}. This is a perfect example of thought-control.

Since the deficiency of self-control has devastating results, it is needed in all areas of life not only male, female also. We live in a world where there is so much emphasis is place on our physical appearance, many exercise extreme self-control to maintain a beautiful appearance, but exercise little self-control when it comes to moral issues  such as sexual fidelity or honesty in business. Here’s another example the story of Joseph. This is an amazing story of self-control and faith. The story is remarkable divided between his disgrace and his adulation where is the same as Christ who was also humiliated and exalted.  It also shows that Christians are going to go thru many tribulations to come into the kingdom. As an adolescent Joseph was over confident, but being Jacob’s favorite son and by knowing Gods’ plan on his life.  That’s not cocky that’s an assurance. Knowing what God can do for you when you give a total sacrifice. You may be asking what does self-control has to do with this?  Let’s start here, being betrayed by family, exposed to sexual temptation, and being punished for doing the right thing; furthermore, he endured a long imprisonment, and forgotten by those who he helped. His response should have been, “why me Lord, why me”! Instead of that he had not only faith but endurance. The Joseph knew whatever he did or was at God was with him. Joseph shows in life no matter the circumstances or situations that comes to you, but how you response to them is the main goal.  In the story of Joseph with the help of God a bad situation can be made good {Genesis 37 thru 50}.

So there you have it. Take it from me; I had a bunch of people laugh at me when I told them I was doing this. Because I have a temper, a big temper, they used to call me the Tasmanian Devil.  As I learned over the years of being saved I’m still learning, but I have learned one thing my old Pastor Reverend Dr. Willie E. Robinson used to say to me when I get angry, “it ain’t that deep”.  I never understood that until I started walking with the Lord, and people started to watch me. I had to practice what I preached. My wife going on seven years Stephanie as always has been there for me, with and without my temper.  She will also tell you that God is working in my life with me and my temper.  I should wear a construction sign that says, “Under construction”.  Does that make me an expert on self-control, no not really; nerveless, I know where to go and what to do. I hope and pray that it will help you in your walk as a self-controlled Christian Man. May God Bless you and keep you all who read this. I’ll leave you with this from Matthew 7:7-8: “Ask, and it shall be given you seek, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeth findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”.  When upset or you’re going to be upset don’t be afraid to call on Jesus to assist you.

Is Visualization Safe for Christians

Author: Phyllis Ward
Is Visualization Safe for Christians
Any form of the word visualization seems to cause a lot of controversy in the Christian world.   I’m not talking about conjuring up your spirit guide or anything like that.  What I’m referring to is in the area of setting goals.  Seeing what it is you want to accomplish.  We all do it but without attaching the “mysterious” word--visualization.

When you were a child listening to Bible stories were you able to see Jonah in the belly of the whale?  Did you have a picture in your mind of the Exodus when all God’s people crossed the Red Sea?  When we are told about the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on our behalf, are we able to see him on the cross suffering for us?
That’s visualization.  We think in words and pictures which also causes emotion in us.  If you saw the movie “The Passion” did it wrench your gut to think about the terrible things Jesus had to endure but did so willingly to save you?   You visualized his terrible pain and his great love for you.

We don’t know the exact detail of what Jesus went through.  Someone had to visualize the scenes for that movie to bring it to life

I would agree there are different types of visualization.  I absolutely don’t agree with calling on the spirit world, chanting or anything like that.  The only spirit I will ever call upon is the Holy Spirit.

I think we would all agree that Dr. Charles Stanley is one of the most knowledgeable theologians of our time.  He’s not a preacher that would have you believe nothing bad ever happens in the life of a Christian.  He understands the discipline of God as well as the blessings of God.

I know that Dr. Stanley believes in setting goals.  I looked at his website this morning and he has a CD series by the name of “Set Your Goals and Live by Faith.”  I found it interesting that he used the word “visualize” in his promo of the series.  It read as follows:

“Dr. Stanley helps you visualize and focus on the specific things God wants to do in your life no matter how big or small.”
We all know that Dr. Charles Stanley is not talking about conjuring up your spiritual guide, chanting, or anything remotely close to that of the occult world.  Neither am I.
God encourages us to come to him in prayer about everything.  We are to bring our joys, our sorrows, our thanks and our praise to him.  Yes, even our requests.

Philippians 4:6 (New International Version)
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

When we have faith that God will answer our prayer, we are seeing him as our loving father that wants to help us.  If you have faith in God, if you have faith he will supply your needs, if you have faith he will rescue you from a dangerous situation, you can “visualize” him answering your prayer.

Matthew 7:9 (New International Version)
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

When I talk about visualizing, I am talking about visualizing your goals; seeing your success in those goals.  Why wouldn’t God want to see you successful and help you attain your goals?  Of course we must thank him and give him the glory for our success.  It’s not of us, it’s of Him.

Let me give you a few more examples—
When you met your husband or wife did you ever say to yourself, “I’m going to marry her or him?”  Did you see yourself as that spouse?

Women, when you set a date for your wedding did you begin to plan and visualize each detail?
When your children were born, did you see them going to college?  Did you visualize them walking across the stage accepting their diploma?

I’ve read many articles about the visualization of an athlete.  I’m sure when Tiger Woods is on the green and confronted with a long putt; he’s visualizing the ball sinking in the hole.

When Michael Jordan got up to the free throw line he was visualizing releasing the basketball and the ball neatly falling through the net.

Olympic athletes are seeing themselves with a first place medal standing on the podium.
The bodybuilder getting ready for a competition has “seen” his or her definition months and months before stepping on the stage.

They have all visualized being successful at whatever their sport is long before they got to the crucial point of actually having taken the action and seeing their success.  They have practiced this in their mind over and over.

You have to be able to see it before you can believe it.  If you can’t believe you can succeed you never will.  If you can visualize your goals you will begin to take the steps to get there.  Once you get clear and can imagine yourself succeeding, God will give you an ability you may not have right now.  He might open doors that previously were not open to you.

I cover visualization in my training, articles, and books. It’s a very powerful tool in being able to get clear in your fitness goals.  If you can “see” it you can believe it and more likely to follow through on what it takes to get there.

I don’t think God will have a problem with us visualizing what we would look like a healthy 30 pounds lighter or visualizing ourselves as kicking the smoking habit and how great we will feel having accomplished those goals—do you?

I hope I have been able to share some insight on visualization with you.  It’s not going into an empty minded meditation.  Align your visualization with God’s will, go to God with your visualization in prayer and thanksgiving, give Him the honor and glory for you success

Why Do Bad Things Happen

Author: john gerard salmon
Why do bad things happen in the world today, we can only guess at the answer, but it seems to me, to be a very important question that we should all try and find answers to. So i am going to give it my input here.
I had a dream one night that i saw a priest moving towards me slowly. He was clutching at his throat with both hands and thick black smoke came out of his mouth. He fell over and lay still on the ground. I nursed him in my arms, mopping his brow, he was sleeping but not dead.
Everything that happends in our life, happends for a reason and i think with the question in mind it is only through christian prayer that bad is allowed to continue to destroy. Christian prayer allows the good and the bad to grow together. through the faithful prayers of the people who are living in this world it prevents death from winning and sin can only put us to sleep in christ and we can only sleep in Christ while the prayers of the living continue because as soon as it stops, then the sleeping will awake and then Christ will return.
Our prayer is this, that we beg pardon for those who do not love God nor worship him and we desire from him patience and help.
As God said let the weeds and plants grow until it is harvest time and then seperate them. This is how it will be at hte end of time.

The future of Online Banking

Author: Carletta Wellman

Online banking business has boomed over the last several years as more and more people discover the benefits of internet checking. This phenomenon is not going anywhere in the near future. It has increased the ease with which people do their banking and it is certainly making our lives a lot easier. In the future you should expect to see online banking become even more inclusive.

Things like free echecking, higher rates on CDs, and access to automatic bill pay already exist, but it is very possible that as banks learn just how much internet banking helps both the bank and its customer they will adopt even more measures to make doing your banking on the internet even more beneficial.

For starters, online banking cuts down on bank expenditures. This allows banks to fulfill the same functions without having to hire more employees. In the long run, this mixture of increased business with fewer employees will save banks a lot of money. Once this is realized, we will begin to see even more features become automated. For example, money market accounts might see their interest rates rise. Money market accounts are basically a mixture of a checking account and an investment. Money market accounts currently get a very small return on your investment, but you can expect this number to go up in the future, especially once the economy starts performing better. Banks will want to have better access to investing your money in order to guarantee them larger profits and money markets are one easy way to do so.

Also, you can expect to see more flexible CDs and different denominations. Currently, some banks offer online CDs, but in the past CD guidelines have been really strict and have scared away a lot of people. Many banks have a six month minimum in which your money will be invested in the bank. If you withdraw your money before the end of the contract, you will have to pay a penalty and this can end up losing money for you. Expect to see smaller CD time lengths, like one or two months.

Finally, you will see online banking become more user friendly. Already banks are starting to create apps that can let you bring your banking with you on the go. From your smart phone or your tablet computer, with a few clicks and a typed in password, you can make sure that your account is always up to date and where you need it to be. Most of the major banks now offer such a service, but this is something that you can expect even smaller local branches to start taking advantage of. Creating such an app is really easy and it saves banks a lot of man hours, thus cutting down on their overall expenses.

The main theme that you will discover as banking progresses into the future is that customer service is prized. Banks know that you can take your money anywhere and that they are competing for the privilege to guard your money for you. Expect this to influence future online banking practices.

7 Secrets To A Good Time Management
Time management is sometimes easier said than done. Many people have heard of time management techniques, but they do not know how to use it and how to apply them in everyday life.
Thanks to the seven secrets of time management, you'll know how to use it:
Learn to be multitasking. He is not trying to do too much at once for the final do not do much. If you know how to multitask and be proficient and efficient at a time, then you know the techniques of time management: to produce more in the same time.

Remember the rule of 20/80. They say that 80% of profitable work is done in 20% of the time that we give. Know when you are most effective and how to best use your time.

Put in place a plan and stick to it. A proper plan will help you know what you must do so at any time. Keep your schedule with you, check it often and use it as a daily guide.

Divide time into several blocks. It is much easier to develop your schedule when you turn all the tasks in time blocks. Thus, instead of watching all the tasks that day, take one piece at a time.

Always plan ahead of schedule. We lose a lot of time with planning too late. Good time management includes planning in advance, expect the unexpected and learn to be flexible.

Segment your day and your activities. For greater efficiency, cut your day and tasks into segments. If you try to do too much at once then you will eventually overwhelmed.

Do not forget the rest. Everybody needs rest. Regardless if you are overwhelmed, you need to work rest and relaxation. This allows your body and your mind to regenerate and keeps you ready for the next day's activities. This is a key point for good time management.

These seven secrets for a good time management will help you stay on time, whatever your daily activities. Your professional life, family and leisure are planned so that you have more time to your needs and pleasures.

The Morning Routine - Tips to prepare, focus and increase productivity

Author: Leigh
One of the most underestimated elements of our daily lives is in how we manage our mornings. I've spent the past eight months fine-tuning my morning schedule. Typically, I try to avoid routines at every opportunity and they can easily get stagnant, restrict flexibility and allow us to function on auto-pilot rather than making clear, conscious decisions. I have learnt to appreciate the morning routine as being beneficial – so my every move up until around 10am is now setup for maximum productivity, after which I resort back to working on instinct. Getting this morning routine right will allow you to get the most out of each and every day.

The first step is to find your ‘optimal sleeping period'. That is to say, the time of sleep after which you function most productively. Only after experimenting with this did I realise that the suggested 8 hours sleep is simply too much for me, I now find myself much more awake and motivated after just 5/6 hours per night. You may need more, you may need less – but make sure you take the conscious steps to discover your optimal sleeping period and adjust your lifestyle accordingly.
Start your day as early as possible. I find that 5am is the best time for me as it allows me to get certain things done before others are awake, such as exercising, eating, reading and writing. Whatever time is best for you, make sure that you try to keep it consistent. The body clock is a powerful thing and you will be best served to adjust the time you go to bed rather than the time you wake up at. If you only get 80% of your ‘optimal sleeping period' because of work/personal commitments, so be it, but stick to getting up at the same time.
It is well to be up before daybreak, for such habits contribute to health, wealth, and wisdom - Aristotle
Make sure you know what you want to achieve by the end of the day. You will ideally have a plan made the evening before so it is just a case of working through your essential tasks and moving towards your long-term goals afterwards. Don't get too bogged down with allocating vague times for mundane tasks such as reading email, eating or unnecessary meetings.  The morning will likely be the time at which you work hardest and produce the best results, so make sure you take this into account when planning your day.

Getting started
Find a morning schedule that makes you feel grounded, clears your head and inspires you for the day ahead. Get up instantly after your alarm goes off – this is a hugely important habit to form and you should be sure to void hitting the ‘snooze' button. If your natural instinct is to hit snooze, you should ask yourself why. Either you are not allocating yourself enough sleep or you are not looking forward to the day ahead and should be sure to change your routine/job/whatever it is that is making you feel this way. Your daily tasks should provoke enough passion, excitement and enthusiasm that you almost welcome the sound of your morning alarm.
When you're up, make sure the first thing you do is leave the room and focus on avoiding any urge to go back to sleep or watch TV. Feel free to try this routine I use - head straight for the kitchen sink, pour a large glass of water with ice, stand still and just focus on breathing and drinking. Not only is rehydrating yourself important in the morning, but this will also give you a bit of time to come to life. Leave the thinking until after you've washed and changed. Now is the time to get your head straight and make yourself feel comfortable, at peace and stimulated for the day ahead.
Make sure you eat well. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day and this cannot be taken too lightly. I would suggest that you eat whatever makes you happy, gives you energy and gets you started for the day ahead. Remember this is much less destructive than eating too much in the evenings as there is plenty of time to get rid of these calories throughout the day. There are many detrimental effects to not eating properly at the start of the day, so be sure to at least eat something to keep you fit and healthy before your next meal.
Try not to read your email before 11am. (Include Facebook, Twitter etc in this). Checking email has become a catalyst for procrastinating and can cause your mind to lead off onto a number of various tangents. You will find checking email becomes a much quicker process when you get to 11am and you are in full stride. Try to tick off at least 50% of your daily workload for that day before checking your email. By that time, you will be in a much better position to adjust your day to cater for the additional tasks contained in your emails, having already completed the majority of your work for the day.

You should be looking to ensure your morning routine remains highly effective. Don't be afraid to consistently track, review and streamline your morning routine as your priorities inevitably change week by week. Find a way to cut down the time taken for each task as much as possible. Is it quicker to prepare breakfasts, iron clothes or read your blogs in the evening or maybe even once a week on a Sunday? Is there a certain time of the morning during which you are best able to complete a certain task? I can highly recommend taking a 30 minute run within one hour of getting up.
Most important of all, when you have woken up and are prepared for what lies ahead… Seize the moment!!
"The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours.  No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen" – Monica Baldwin

Discover Your Passion: Do What You Love

Author: Sara Clark-Williams
Do you wake up in the morning looking forward to your work? If not, you're not alone.
Many of us spend years doing the daily routine only to find that we wake up one day and realize that we're not happy. We went to college then got a great job because this is what we were supposed to do. It was an acceptable definition of success and we followed suit. Some of you were lucky enough to find what you loved early in life, get an education to support it and a job that pays you well. Congratulations for your early realization that doing what you love will reward you. For the rest of us who may have taken a little longer (or a detour) it's not too late to start living your passion!

Perhaps, like me, it didn't take you very long to discover that you wanted more. Whether two years or twenty, the result is the same- you have decided that something needs to be different or you might go crazy! When you are not passionate about what you're doing for work it takes much more energy to be successful than if you had the interest and passion driving you. I liken this experience (which I've personally had) to riding a bike, pedaling as fast and hard as possible, but it feels as if you're going up hill pulling another person behind you. Have you ever felt this?
When you're passionate about what you are doing you know it. Author and positive psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi describes this as "flow". In other words, you lose track of time because you are immersed and fully engaged in and energized by what you're doing. While there are times any work can get challenging, we tend not to mind as much if it involves work that we believe in and from which we feel stimulated and connected. Do you feel that way about your work? If not, here are a few critical questions to help you discover your passion and decide what you can do to start living it today: (get a paper and pen out)

  • What are you passionate about?

  • Are you currently making time in your life to pursue your passions?

  • In general, what do you want more of in your life?

  • What have you always wanted to achieve or do that you haven't yet done?

  • Were you at any point in your current work (whether employed or self-employed) passionate about what you're doing? If so, think about what it was that gave you that feeling. If not, what were your reasons for choosing that particular job/industry or type of business?

  • When is the last time you felt energized by something you were doing? What were you doing? Where were you and who was around you? (e.g.teaching children how to watercolor, overseeing the fundraising event for your church, managing the improvement project for the customer relationship management system at work).

  • Review each item on your list. What was it that you liked about the experience? What exactly gave you that energizing feeling? After you have gotten clear about this for each item, find any common theme. Circle or highlight the common words or phrases. This theme directly relates to what you're passionate about! Was your common theme teaching children? Teaching others about a certain topic? Were you around animals?

Note: Be open with your answers- no boundaries here. Don't discount something you recall enjoying because it's not what's typically considered appealing. Write it all down.
I'm not suggesting that everyone quit their day job today to find their passion unless that is a reality for you. Rather, start discovering what you're passionate about. If you're like so many of us who need the finiancial provision of a day job, start living your passion in small ways. Check out your monthly challenge below!
Your Challenge!
Decide what you will do to experience more of your passion this month. If you're passionate about animals, but rescuing 6 dogs or starting your own parrot rescue nonprofit organization isn't a reality right now, what small step can you take to feel that you are making a difference in the lives of your favorite animal? For example, start volunteering one hour per week at your local shelter, or donate money to your favorite animal-centered charity. Take that small step forward and feel the fulfillment and passion you've longed for.

How to reach your goals faster

Author: sangesh Secure and organize your goals is a necessity to help you make the right decisions to succeed. Discipline your desires strengthens your motivation and help you excel in your business and your personal life.

Start with defining the priorities of your objects in order to concentrate all your efforts on the most important filmmaker and gradually tackle the other, just like when you do the housework or home repairs: one thing after other ...
This approach is highly motivating because these steps, you will discover things that you could not see before ...
The fact to write on paper what to do and see his progress will be adjusted regularly, to stimulate your organization and your team to achieve the desired goal.

Here are some steps:
1.Be accurate. Noting the elements required for each step of your goal, measuring its progress, you go faster in its performance and thence the next goal ...
2. Write down your goals. This allows them to coordinate together and strengthens not to forget their purpose.
3. Focus only on achievable goals. You need to discern where to focus your energies and remove, without qualms, which is not possible in your current environment, so as not to arouse disappointment that may be hard to get up. Put the idea aside in case ...
4. Establish priorities. You must write down your goals in order of importance in order to avoid dispersion and discouragement. Be methodical!
5. The world was not built in a day. Also, keep the goals to be achieved gradually, in stages commensurate without the bar too high. It is not imperative that everybody is aware of the ultimate goal of the year, for example. Reveal the things as and when measuring success in order not to scare or intimidate.
6. Give achievable in the immediate context of the company. Obviously you should not engage your employees on assumptions or uncertainties. The objectives must be made with all the data in order to monitor their implementation until the end.
7.Il is essential not to create goals too high or too low. People tend to take the easiest path because they fear failure. You will need to achieve balance by setting your goals: not too low because it would not be a challenge and motivation, neither too high, which would make it inaccessible.
Remember that your goals lead wisely is an important element for success. There must be flexibility and tenacity. Toughness because without it, the obstacles will take over, but also flexibility to challenge your strategy and take into account where appropriate, the experience of others to find the solution that should work! ...

Personal Development : Being A Better Person

Author: Stephen Campbell
The benefits of and growing as a person and making constant expansion is an innate part of us as human beings. All of us want to grow more and more and one's definition of personal growth along with a list of personal skills for use in your personal development is of paramount importance. Reaching your potential personal and professional development becomes more and more important as time goes by as everyone wants to get better in his or her life in every way possible.

Now when considering one's personal development, looking at wanting or having more with a list of personal skills does not necessarily make you better. To become a better person you need to get better inside and in reaching your potential personal and professional development quicker that you otherwise would have. You need to improve your inner self. Personal development helps one to become a better person and the our definition of growth is one of the first things to get defined.

Taking on personal development is a serious task. To make the world a better place (reaching your potential personal and professional development) we have to start with ourselves first. When your ideas, habits and attitudes change for the better, you could help others live their lives better. Though it sounds simple, it takes a lot of effort on your part. If it is so easy then why aren't others trying to become better? The theory of Self-actualization states that in order for human beings to grow to a higher level, they have to get their basic needs satisfied. The basic needs of a human being are: physiological, safety, acceptance or belonging, self-esteem and self-actualization. Let us see why these factors are important in helping us to become better persons.

o Man's physiological needs are food and water, i.e. basic survival. If you are starving and not having enough food and water to take care of your hunger and thirst, where would you get the strength from to think about becoming better? Only when you physiologically satisfy these needs can you think about your psychological hunger and thirst for self-knowledge. Your basic survival needs take the first place in your life and then your personal development.

o One has to ensure his personal safety above everyone else's security. If you do not feel safe in your personal life, how can you try to bring safety to others? Your constant fear would not make you think about others.

o With personal development acceptance or a sense of belonging is another essential need for human beings. We need understanding and love from our family and friends and the society we live in. This acceptance will make us think of doing good things for the people who accept us and in that process we become a better person.

o The need for self-esteem along with a list of personal skills - once you are a recognized person among your people, you believe that they respect you. This feeling promotes power and prestige in you. To maintain this self-esteem you would do good deeds to better their lives. This in turn would reflect on your goodness. People would recognize you as a better person among them.

o Finally, we all have a definition of personal growth and when you satisfy most of the above needs, the concept of Self-Actualization will dawn on you. With a satisfied hunger, security, acceptance and power, you want to develop stronger ties with others. You rise above yourself, in the sense you start giving more importance to other peoples' needs and wants. You believe in being committed to a greater cause than yourself.
Once you enter the doorway for self-realization you would eventually learn to put other people ahead of you in life and you become a better person, naturally!

When is comes to personal development and our lives, the reality is that you can be whoever or whatever you choose to be, if only more of us would believe and act upon this then we would not have the level of apathy and the situation we see in our society.
